Polaroid socialmatic

This week at CES Polaroid announced the Socialmatic camera which fuses retro style instant prints reminiscent of their old school instant cameras & Android into one product and it seems that the company is planning on bringing the device to our shores.

One of our readers Anthony was able to find out through the companies Facebook page that the Socialmatic will indeed be coming down under, though at this stage there is no confirmed time frame beyond that they expect the device to hit our shores later on this year:

Given that the device has been tipped to hit the US market during this Autumn around Quarter 3, we could possibly speculate the device would be here anytime between September through to November this year. If/when it does arrive here, there’s a few retailers who stock Polaroid products – Big W, Officeworks and Teds Cameras or of course their Online store. We’ll be keeping in contact with Polaroid to see if we can get a review unit when it does arrive here in Australia. I have to say is pretty interesting device, I will certainly be lining up to get one!

Would you consider buying the Polaroid Socialmatic? What do you think of the device?

Planning to use Polaroid’s current Zero Ink Printing Digicam instead of a photo booth or other similar overpriced schemes for my wedding.

Saw these and was hoping I could get my hands on some of these instead. Would be quite cool to pass them around the crowd and get some great pics, And not only instant print but share straight to the cloud on the night.

Looks like it’s going to be a month or two too late. Pity 🙁

I’d seriously consider getting one as a replacement for my old 2010 Pentax e80 digital compact.

I just hope it comes with access to Google Play.
