Several weeks ago LG announced the arrival of the 7″ G Pad across Europe with other versions set to arrive in the coming weeks. Today it is the 10.1in versions turn. LG have today announced the global launch of the 10.1in G-Pad. Once again LG are maintaining the premise that the tablet is a multimedia device although the relatively low end specs may make it difficult to play 3D graphic-intensive games fluidly. On the other hand they may just mean it is good for watching movies and that’s it.

The LG G Pad 10.1 is perfect for on-the-go media consumption as it boasts an expansive, widescreen display powered by an 8,000mAh battery that gives users an immersive multimedia experience and endless hours of entertainment.

G Pad 10.1 Key Specifications

  • Display: 10.1-inch IPS(1280 x 800, WXGA)
  • Chipset: 1.2GHz Quad-Core
  • Memory: 16GM eMMC / 1GB RAM / microSD slot
  • Camera: Rear 5MP / Front 1.3MP
  • Battery: 8000mAh
  • Size: 260.9 x 165.9 x 8.9mm
  • Weight: 523g
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi
  • Color: Black, Red
  • Other: QPair 2.0, Smart Keyboard, Knock CodeTM

While the 7″ G Pad made its debut in Europe, the 10.1″ G Pad will hit the markets first in USA followed by other markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America later this month. There is no word from LG Australia as to when we should expect to be able to purchase this tablet but we will keep you posted should we hear anything.
