Google adds ‘Insert from Drive’ to GMail for Android

It seems that we’re getting some updates today, with Google rolling out updates to a number of apps, including GMail, with Google adding ‘Insert from Drive’ to the list of options when attaching files to emails.

The option to add a file from your Google Drive to an email is now found in the overflow menu on the right, with a popup window appearing so you can select which file you want to add. At this stage there aren’t any other new features popping up according to Android Police, but it’s a nifty piece of additional functionality.

As usual, Android Police have captured the APK and are now hosting it on a variety of mirrors if you just can’t wait for Google to push the update to your device. If you can wait, it should appear in your list of updates fairly shortly in Google Play.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
