Sony Xperia Z3 takes a leak

The rumoured update to the Sony Xperia Z line has received a bit more information today, with leaks published overnight by Evan Blass, of @evleaks:

These specs really aren’t much different to what’s in the existing product on-market, the Xperia Z2. So, what else do we know about the Xperia Z3?

In truth? Not much. We know that it’s coming, and we know it’s likely specs, and it’ll likely be similar in format to the Xperia Z2 — as in, waterproof, dust proof, pretty great camera, likely a glass back, and what’s become the standard Xperia Z fare.

We do, however, remain excited, because the Xperia Z2 was a great phone, so the Z3 has high standards to meet. We do question, though, the wisdom in releasing incremental updates to phones so quickly one after another… the Z2 hasn’t been around for all that long, and already the replacement is in the works. That’s a good way to upset customers.

What’s the point of this device if the Z2 is pretty much exactly the same?

This 6 month product cycle doesn’t seem like a great idea to me.

Well, I don’t fell bad for buying a z2 then.
