Bauhn Sphere B5 - Kids TAblet
Discount supermarket chain, Aldi, is about to bring back two Android products, they first began selling back in June. Both the Bauhn Sphere B5 Dual-SIM Smartphone, as well as the unbranded ‘Kids Tablet’ are returning to their stores next Wednesday the 10th of September.

The phone first went on-sale in Aldi stores back in June, for $249, and it seems to have done fairly well for Aldi, with the phone getting a second round in their ‘Special Buys’ of the week. It’s not the best specs in the world, especially when compared with other phones on the market like the Moto G, or even the Kogan Agora 4G, but if you’re interested the phone contains :

  • 5.0″ IPS LCD Display
  • 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor
  • 1GB Ram
  • 8MP rear camera, 2.0MP front facing
  • 16GB storage expandable to 32GB via MicroSD Card
  • Bluetooth
  • WiFi iEEE 802.11 b/g/n
  • Android 4.2.2
  • Radios:
    • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900Mhz
    • 3G: WCDMA 850 / 2100 Mhz
  • Dual-SIM
  • 1750mAh removable battery

Also returning is their rubber clad, unbranded ‘Kids Tablet’, which went on-sale in August. The tablet is unbranded, but comes with Educational games, ad-blocker and in-app purchase mechanism which prevents un-authorised purchases, so it’s perfect for toddlers, pre-schoolers and children in general.

Hardware wise, the tablet is nowhere near high end, it comes with a 7″ 1024×600 resolution screen, 1.5GHz Dual-Core CPU and 4GB of storage but with microSD card expansion(SD card not included). The tablet is ensonced in a rubber cover to protect it from your childrens ‘accidents’.

The 7″ Kids Tablet will return at a slightly lower price than when it was first introduced, selling at just $79.99 (saving $20).

The only accessory available for the phone and tablet is a Class 10, Medion branded 32GB microSD card which you can pick up for $17.99 when they go on-sale next Wednesday.

As with all electrical products sold through Aldi stores, the tablet and Bauhn phone will come with a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee as well as the usual 1 Year Warranty. If you’re interested in this phone, head along on Saturday morning to an Aldi store near you.
