Factory Images for Nexus 7 (2012) WiFi Appear

image0019
Out of the blue Google has dropped the link for the factory image for 5.0.2 onto the Nexus factory images web page meaning an OTA can’t be too far away. Interestingly, at the same time they have removed the link for 5.0.1 which is unusual as normally all links remain on there. There must have been a critical bug for Google to remove 5.0.1.

For those of you who are too impatient to wait for the OTA you can download the factory image with the build designation LRX22G and install the factory image yourself. As yet there is no changelog published so if you would like to be our guinea pig please do and let us know the changes in the new build.

Anyone in As actually had 5.0.2 made available for download yet via OTA. Been checking daily on my device since Xmas however I’m advised every time I’m “up to date” .

No update for my wife’s forlorn 4.4 totin 2012 Nexus 7 which seems as if it doesn’t want an OTA at all. Its so painfully slow I’ve considered rolling it back to 4.3

Installed it last night.

Be warned though, it does a destructive update!!

I removed the “-w” flag as usual but didn’t do my due diligence and there is also “fastboot erase userdata”.

My N7/2012 was completely hopeless with 5.0.0 on, literally 3min+ to open any app not in memory and I did a clean install from 4.4 to 5.0. This has made is marginally better, I can at least open apps in <1min now.

From your post, do I gather that upgrading to v5.0.2 is a waste of time?

5.0.1 never existed for Nexus 7 (2012) Wifi ‘nakasi’. It went straight to 5.0.2 from 5.0.0
