Android One in India to see Lollipop update ‘in the next few weeks’ according to Google

Owners of the original Android One handsets will soon see their Lollipop update according to Google.

In a Google+ Post, Google India has made the announcement, although it’s fairly light on details. The post, which you can see below, simply points to the android.com/one website, which still advises that Android One handsets have ‘Always up-to-date software’ which ‘Runs Android 4.4 KitKat’. But recent developments could see an Android 5.1 update hit the Android One handsets.

We’ve still got an Android One handset here in the Ausdroid office, so we’ll be patiently watching to see when the update comes through.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
