Sydney Opera House releases an Android app; book tickets, check facilities and find your way round

Sydney Opera House
Iconic Australian landmark the Sydney Opera House is the home of some fine shows, restaurants and bars and is a pretty nice place to visit all round, and they’ve released an Android app.

The new app seems to have been created in partnership with Samsung, who are the principal partner for the Sydney Opera House appears to be quite the decent native Android app. There’s nice touches here like a slide-out nav drawer which let you navigate around the app and do things like Book a Tour, check out upcoming shows as well as book tickets, find places to Eat & Drink and explore the venues.

The full list of features includes :

  • Browse and book tickets to our shows, events, and tours;
  • View menus, and explore our restaurants and bars;
  • Find your way around with indoor maps; or
  • Add events, restaurants, bars, and venues to your Favourites.

The Sydney Opera House app is available for devices running Android 4.0.3 and above, and at 6.1MB it’s a relatively tiny little app. If you’re a regular visitor to the Opera House this is a tidy little app to check out. You can grab it now for free from Google Play.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
