After successfully launching their ultra-thin 7″ Venue 8 7000 tablet in Australia earlier this year, Dell has announced a larger model going for the larger tablet market with the Venue 10 7000.

Like it’s smaller sibling, the Venue 10 7000 is powered by the same 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. The tablet has an ultra-high resolution 10.5″ OLED 2560×1600 and also contains the Intel RealSense camera setup from the Venue 8 7000 as well. C-Net, who were given early access to the device also list the tablet as coming with 2GB of RAM, as well as a 7,000mAh battery. The Venue 10 7000 also has a microSD card slot which will let you add cards up to 512GB in size, meaning you’ll have plenty of space to store multi-media

While the name suggests that the Venue 10 7000 is simply a larger version, Dell has actually re-designed the tablet to take into account a different use case for the device. The tablet has rounded speakers at the bottom.

Navin Shenoy, Vice President and General Manager, Intel Mobility Client Platforms said of the tablet

We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Dell on the Venue 10 7000 tablet. Based on the Intel Atom processor, the new tablet will bring a high quality, smooth experience with long battery life in a sleek design, whether it’s for work or play. The Intel RealSense snapshot technology in the new tablet will also provide people with exciting new ways to capture the world.

As well as being great for multi-media viewing, the Dell Venue 10 7000 also comes with an optional Microsoft Surface style keyboard dock which includes a trackpad. The keyboard dock offers the chance to turn the tablet into a real work horse.

Pricing and avialability for the Dell Venue 10 7000 has only been announced for the US, China and Canada, with the tablet expected to arrive there in May. The Tablet will cost US$499 for the 16GB model, or US$629 with the keyboard dock, no pricing has been announced for the 32GB model.Dell has told C-Net that the tablet will be available in Australia later this year.
