TeamWin the guys behind one of the most popular custom recoveries has added support for two new devices overnight – the Nexus Player and the Oppo R5.

The Oppo R5 is fairly straightforward, with instructions available on the Oppo R5 TWRP page, while the Nexus Player, with no native inputs requires a more custom setup which TeamWin note on the Nexus Player TWRP page :

You will need a USB OTG cable and a USB mouse to navigate TWRP on the Nexus Player. The graphics are a bit laggy because pixelflinger is not very well optimized for x86.

It’s fairly straightforward other than that and soon you’ll be backing up current configs, flashing new ROMs and performing all the other functions normally calling for a custom recovery. Head over to the source for the instructions and downloads now.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
