Sony’s Smartband 2 is apparently about to be released, with Sony releasing their official companion app to Google Play – before apparently immediately pulling it.

The app release showed off a few tidbits from the upcoming device, including outing the fact that the fitness band will feature a heart rate monitor. The app shows the band – pictured above – with the app promising that the SmartBand ‘measures your pulse at an even rate throughout the day’.

The Smartband 2 will also deliver notifications such as calls, texts or notifications when messages from Social Media platforms arrive. It can also act as smart alarm, gently vibrating your wrist when it’s time to get up, with increasing intensity.

XperiaBlog has more screenshots of the now removed app, so head over and check it out.
