Art Gallery of NSW releases their own Android app

The Art Gallery of NSW has today released their own Android app to show off their fine collection of artworks to a wider audience.

The app contains a collection of art from the gallery, organised into ‘Curator Collections’ showing modern and contemporary art from Australian and international artists. Each artwork shown off in the app contains a picture of the artwork, as well as audio insights from the curators.

The app was created with the Google Open Gallery tools, which are supplied as part of the Google Cultural Institute initiative ‘to host the world’s cultural treasures online’.

The app is fairly easy to navigate and of course the gallery has unique content that’s internationally recognised. If you’re into art then it’s worth your while to check out the app and see what you think.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

Ahh. It’s not a NSFW Art Gallery.
