It’s Thursday, so it’s time for a free app from Google Play’s new family Section and this week it’s Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake from Cartoon Network.

The app is normally worth $6.14, but if you click on the banner in the Google Play Families section or this link you’ll get it for free.

Join Niko as he begins a quest to get back his birthday cake, but ends up on a quest for the fate of Gogapoe island itself. There’s a bunch of monsters in the game with unique abilities to use on your quest. Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake is full of puzzles and brain teasers which if completed will open up new secret paths and more.

Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake also features great touch controls to make it easy for your child to control, and according to the Google Play page ’60 sweet minutes of original music written by composer extraordinaire, Disasterpeace’.

The game is free, so head over to Google Play and check it out now.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
