The OnePlus 2 launches this week. At 12pm on Tuesday we’ll be able to access a live stream of the event which if you have a Cardboard viewer, will allow you to view it in a virtual aspect. Overnight, OnePlus released their Cardboard app, and also launched a way to grab invites for the OnePlus 2.

The invite system will be much more refined than the much maligned previous invite list. When we spoke to Co-Founder Carl Pei at Google I/O he advised it would be much easier to get access to invites and that’s mostly going to be due to a higher inventory – up to 30-50x what they had last year – for launch.

For people wanting an invite, you can attempt to pre-register your email address for an invite on the OnePlus Invites page, but at the moment, the site is straining under load and you probably won’t get on the list for a while.

So, if you don’t get an invite through their pre-registration, the question is: How can I get an invite?

You can get an invite from friends who have purchased a OnePlus 2 already, or by participating in our contests and promotions. For notifications about our contests and invites, subscribe to our newsletter, join our community on the forums, or follow us on social media:

OnePlus invites will begin heading out soon after the launch on Tuesday – we may have one or two to share, we’re working on it.

For those of you wanting to watch the event on Tuesday, have your Google Cardboard ready and make sure you install the Google Cardboard app on your phone because it’s now launched on Google Play. There’s not much to it at the moment, so you’ll have to wait till Tuesday. Grab it now on Google Play.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁
