Woolies-Optus-LG Leon

In their latest catalogue, which starts this Wednesday 26 August, Woolworths is offering the LG Leon smartphone on Optus Pre-Paid, for $99 with a bonus $20 Google Play gift card included as part of the deal.

The LG Leon, which has been available on Optus Pre-Paid since April and is one of their LG G3 inspired, entry level, pre-paid handsets. While the price is right, the specs too are decent with some great software features such as LG’s Knock Code and Gesture Shot built-in to the software, which counts Android 5.0 (Lollipop) as its base.

In case you’re not sure, here is the full rundown for the LG Leon:

  • 4.5″ FWVGA (854×480) resolution display @ 220 ppi
  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Quad-Core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB On-board storage (4GB user accessible) with microSD Card slot up to 32GB
  • 5MP Rear camera with LED Flash and 0.3MP(VGA) front-facing camera
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n single band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS
  • Network Connectivity:
    • 2G: 850/900/1800/1900
    • 3G: 850/900/2100
    • 4G FDD: 700/1800/2100/2600
    • 4G TDD: 2300
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 1900mAh/Li-ion battery
  • 129.9×64.9×10.99mm @ 138.5grams

Of course, the phone is great at the $99 price point, but the bonus $20 Google Play Gift Card is the icing on the cake, making this deal hard to pass up if you’re in the market for a 4G compatible smartphone on the Optus Network. The inclusion of the TD-2300MHz LTE network which adds the Optus 4G Plus network is simply a bonus.

The Optus Pre-Paid LG Leon smartphone with bonus $20 Google Play gift card goes on sale at your local Woolworths Supermarket from this Wednesday 26th August 2015 for one week (ending Tuesday 1st September 2015) and of course the LG leon is locked to the Optus network, but can be unlocked for an additional fee (about $80) along with a 12 month manufacturers warranty.
