Sony is expanding the trial for their software concept for Xperia that they launched for Swedish Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners back in July, with an updated Marshmallow based concept.

The new trial has been expanded to more European countries, including Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and of course Sweden. The new concept software is based on the newly launched Android 6.0 Marshmallow software launched this week by Google. The new software concept build uses some of the new features with Sony’s new software concept:

The software is built on some of the key feedback from our first “Concept for Android” – the users helped us create an experience built on the fundamentals of: prolonged battery life, smooth and fast performance, sleek user interface, Sony apps and experiences and frequent, timely updates. We’ve included all of that here and also hope to road test a few new Sony experiences along the way.

The trial is open to the first 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners who sign up for the trial that are based in the counties listed above, with successful applicants being notified over the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately it’s only for European users, but just like the first trial, the concept may leak out through other channels soon ;).

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
