Google Play Music Families is about to rollout, at least in the US, but it appears another goodie may be headed our way if that doesn’t make it down under: Music Gifts.

Android Police have noted an update to the Google Play Support page for gift cards and promotional codes, with the appearance of ‘Music Gifts’ for Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, United States showing on the support page.

There’s no hint of what it could be except in the name: Music Gifts. Could we finally be getting the ability to gift songs, albums or even a Google Play Music All Access subscription? It’s certainly a piece of functionality that’s been missing so far from Google Play, in fact Gifts for all aspects of Google Play would be appreciated. Will Music Gifts be physical cards or virtual codes to be redeemed à la Promo Codes?

Hopefully we’ll see more on Music Gifts soon when Google is ready to share.
