Local Guides
Google’s Local Guides, the community of users who rate and review places and business in Google Maps are getting some new functions, allowing them to rate and review ‘etablishments’ based on their location history.

The update will roll out to Google Maps for Android and will show pop-ups for users in Maps as notifications, allowing them to add details about the business including whether the place is family friendly or not. The notification has been sent out to Local Guides in an email which says:

The update should be coming to Google Maps for Android for Local Guides soon. Google currently operates a couple of Local Guides communities in Australia, in Sydney, as well as Melbourne.

If you’re a member of the Local Guides team, let us know what you think.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
