Flying a jetpack alongside an Emirates A380 in Dubai? Doesn’t sound dangerous at all.

Look, we don’t often post completely off-topic stuff, but given that we’ve flown Dan and Jason through Dubai to get to the UK and to IFA in Berlin, we think that’s enough of a link. Besides, if it’s good enough for Gizmodo to share this, we can too.

Frankly, this is just cool. The A380 is the largest commercial airliner in the world, and just watching one of Emirates’ A380s flying over Dubai in a video would be reason enough to watch it. This one, though, has a special feature; there’s two mad blokes (Yves Rossy and Vince Reffet) with jetpacks flying around it while it travels over some of Dubai’s most iconic imagery.

Truth be told, this is just stunning, and I watched it a couple of times before watching the behind-the-scenes video (which you can watch too, below):

Shameless video sharing as tech: Gizmodo.

Chris has been at the forefront of smartphone reporting in Australia since smartphones were a thing, and has used mobile phones since they came with giant lead-acid batteries that were "transportable" and were carried in a shoulder bag. He saw the transition from AMPS to GSM, loved the Motorola StarTac, and got into Palm technologies in a big way. The arrival some years later of the original iPhone, and then the early Androids, awoke a new interest in mobile technology, and Chris has been writing about it since.
