Google are continually updating and improving all of their products, adding features, fixing bugs and having fun; either hiding easter eggs or some short lived features. The latest version of maps has a little bit of each included; there’s always bug fixes when you’re dealing with software this complex and they’ve done that. They’ve added some further capabilities to the automatic re-routing, which surprised me on the way home tonight and sent me around an accident which occurred less than 10 minutes before I approached and a bit of fun:

• Starting December 1, search for Santa in Google Maps to see where he is during the ho-ho-holidays. On December 24th, each search for Santa will give real time updates on his location as he flies around the world.

This will go hand in hand with the Santa Tracker site and App which have been updated for 2015.
