LG’s G5 is definitely generating interest around Android circles, with an updated unibody design and that talk of a ‘Magic Slot’. The magic slot in question has gotten a little less mysterious overnight, with the packaging for what appears to be a battery pack for the slot leaking on Chinese social media site Weibo.

The packaging, which is very likely for an additional battery – obviously the phone will ship with a battery – and shows a slightly off centre battery attached to what’s likely the base or ‘chin’ of the G5.

As you can see, the unit itself is placed with the battery pack off centre, and if you look there seems to be room for something else. The something else could be a microSD card slot, SIM slot, or something completely different.

We’ll be seeing what LG has to offer with the G5 in just a few days with LG launching the phone at their event in the wee hours of Monday morning AEDST. We’ll have hands on pictures, video and thoughts as soon as we can on the phone, so stay tuned.
