First on the list is Instant Heart Rate – Pro. and the concept is pretty simple, it measures and logs your heart rate simply by placing your finger on your camera – magic.

With over 25 million users, it’s a tried and tested method which they say is accurate, using the camera to track changes in your fingertip to measure your pulse. You get a real-time PPG graph showing every heart beat and it’s all logged so you get a histroy of your heart rate.

It’s a good deal at 20c, there’s no additional payments required to make it work, as long as you’re running Android 4.0 or above you’re right to go. Check it out now on Google Play.

Let’s face it, if you haven’t heard of Fruit Ninja by now there’s something amiss. For those who haven’t Fruit Ninja is a delightfully simple game, which simply requires you to swipe your finger across the screen cutting up fruit with a sword as it’s tossed in the air. Simple.

While this is the pro version of the game and it’s cheap, there are In-app Products available for purchase ranging in price from $1.24 – $64.99 per item, but as usual you can get a lot of fun without buying a thing.

Fruit Ninja is a lot of fun on a tablet or on a phone and it will keep you or the kids entertained for hours. It’s definitely worth a look.

I`m torn this week, Instant Heart Rate – Pro is great and has no extra costs, but Fruit Ninja is made by an Aussie developer so I`m going to have to go home-grown. If you only have 20c to spend on apps or games this week, throw it to an Aussie developer and support your local guys.

Until next week, head over to Google Play and grab a bargain.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

Telstra pre-paid not working on google play store purchases atm. Major outage apparently. Would’ve grabbed the heart rate monitor for a bit of fun.

I’ll pass. In app purchases suck. If I pay for a game, I expect to be able to play it to the end with skill, not depending on how many hundreds of dollars I can spend on buying gems and powerups.
