Twitter adds Connect tab in their mobile app to suggest better follows

Twitter is looking to expand their user base and enhance the experience for users, part of that experience is connecting users with similar interests. Today Twitter is introducing a new Connect tab to their mobile apps, to help you find new people to follow and connect with.

The update is rolling out to both Android and iOS apps, with the suggestions being chosen based on a number of factors. The algorithm to suggest new follows will improve over time with Twitter advising that the suggestions are chosen from :

‘who you already follow, Tweets you like, popular accounts in your local area, what’s happening in the world right now, and more. We’ll also let you know exactly why we’re showing you each recommendation.’
As well as looking at this, you can connect your Address book to make sure you’re following all your friends and family. Here’s how it looks (on iOS):

The update is rolling out now, so ensure your apps are updated through Google Play.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
