Do you like the Galaxy S7 Edge? How about a Dark Knight themed Galaxy S7 Edge? Now do we have your attention? That seems to be what Samsung Mobile has begun teasing with a couple of tweets from the last couple of days.

The latest tweet says ‘Coming soon: A new device’, as well as showing the Galaxy S7 Edge with the Batman logo. The tweet could just be playing up the angle of the phone being great to play the mobile Injustice: Gods Among Us game – or we could see a Batman version of the S7 Edge.

The tweet follows up a more generic one from yesterday which also used the Batman logo but didn’t actually say anything about a new phone.

It’s not unheard of for Samsung to make themed versions of their handsets, with Samsung making an Iron Man themed Galaxy S6 Edge last year.

The possibility of a Batman, and indeed Superman themed Galaxy S7 Edge first surfaced earlier this year before the launch of the phones at Mobile World Congress. Back then Korean site Naver actually spoke of a Batman Vs Superman themed series coming this year. The subsequent panning of the Batman vs Superman movie may have prompted Samsung to step back from that angle, but Injustice: Gods Among Us is a solid game and people do love Batman.

The launch of a Batman themed Galaxy S7 Edge would certainly make me reach for my wallet, however the actual handset would most likely be very limited edition. Last years Iron Man edition sold only in limited quantities in limited markets, so don’t get your hopes up. Still, a Batman themed handset would be enough to get me out of my Nexus love about you?

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
