Universal search for Netflix coming to Android TV

Android TV Logo
Android TV owners will know the pain of searching for content on their devices, both embedded TVs and set top boxes, but from today it gets a little bit easier with universal search for Netflix now included in Android TV search results.

The concept is pretty simple, perform a search on Android TV from the search box and you should, if it’s available on Netflix, then get a card with ‘Available on Netflix’ showing. If you have Netflix, then it should be as simple as selecting your show or movie and starting to watch.

The feature doesn’t seem to be live as yet though, with no system updates or Netflix app updates available on my Nexus Player or Bravia Android TV. It’s possible the new function is rolling out slowly, so perhaps keep checking back.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
