Sony’s IFA 2016 press conference is set for September 1st

Sony has a long history of bringing big products to IFA in Berlin each September. We are typically treated with phones, smartwatches, mobile accessories, TV’s, projectors, VR goggles and so much more during their IFA press conference and associated trade show.

It seems Sony has got out ahead of the pack and announced their IFA 2016 Press Conference for 13:00 Berlin time (9PM AEST) on 1 September this year, I’ve put it in my calendar, I have to admit I’m a long time Sony user. We’ve already seen the rumoured new Sony Flagship leak out, and even found one for sale.

What else are we expecting to see from Sony? The rumour mill has been fairly quiet nevertheless, with Android Wear 2.0 launching soon and Sony’s Smartwatch 3 approaching its second birthday – it was released at IFA 2014 – we’d love to see Sony’s next Android Wear device. We haven’t seen a Sony tablet refresh is a while, however, with the whole tablet market slowing it’s unclear if Sony will remain active in this market.

Sony is also a big supporter of Googlecast so we may see some portable speakers, this is not a product type that they typically release at IFA however. We also expect Sony to bring a few other Sony toys along for the ride from their other product categories.

Whatever Sony announce we will be watching it all unfold to bring you the latest and greatest that they have to offer.
