On the back of their announcement of Fashion Week integration in search, Google has today announced a new inclusion called ‘Shop the Look’ designed to help you find new apparel and home decor.
The Shop the Look feature will associate searches with products, with retailers, designers and bloggers able to create a shopping campaign based on a look. For example, a picture of a model in an outfit and accessories can be tagged to show the complete look with accessories and outfit listed with pricing etc. – Google will of course charge based on ad-clicks for activity on these ads.
Google has brought on board LIKEtoKNOW.it., Polyvore and Curalate to kick it off, testing the feature only in the US on mobile devices, but will expand to other markets soon.
