If you’re constantly keeping an eye on your battery life because you struggle at the end of the day, LG’s brand new X Power smartphone, part of their X series phones which highlight specific smartphone features, may be the solution to your needs.

The battery in the X Power has a capacity of 4100 mAh which is significantly larger than higher end phones from the previous generation, but the cost will be pleasing at only $349 RRP through JB Hifi. There’s a 5.3″ HD (720p) display and a relatively low power use 1.3 Ghz Quad Core Mediatek SoC which will undoubtedly be a help to extending the battery life over a higher resolution option.

The LG X Power also offers fast charging to quickly charge that large battery, offering up to so if you can find a power point for 20 minute you should be able to get enough of a boost to last the rest of the day.

LG Australia’s Marketing Manager, Bruce Leigh said in the press release this morning

This smartphone is great for those who are always on-the-go. This device has all of the features and necessities needed, but with the added benefit of a large battery capacity. So you can be glued to your phone playing games or scrolling through social media for longer.

On the surface it seems as though the X Power would be a winner for anyone looking for a reliable, cheap phone with great battery life. How it goes in real life will be a matter for the review.

Other than battery life, what are your biggest needs when it comes to a new phone?

For those who make buying decisions based on a piece of wood to look at is strongly encouraged to visit jb hifi to worship these pieces of wood.

If that Mediatec chip gives similar performance to my year-old Moto X Force, could see myself trading over to this phone. At least, if Moto doesn’t hurry up with the Z Play here, or the Pixel phones don’t tempt me.

Disappointing. It appears that overseas they are getting the Helio P10 (MTK6755M) and a Full HD screen. Why give us something that is gutted? Why LG? Why?
