googles-18th-birthday-5661535679545344-hp2x
You may note a bit of a celebratory flair on the Google homepage today with Google celebrating their 18th birthday this year.

As usual, Google themselves not actually sure when their birthday is – so they tend to celebrate at random times. Google have previously celebrated their birthday on the 7th, 8th, 26th, and the 27th of September and this is the 2nd year in a row they’ve settled on the 27th, so maybe there’s something in that.

Google is now officially old enough to drink in Australia, though not in many states in the US where 21 is the legal drinking age.

Today’s Google Doodle is designed by Doodler Gerben Steenks and Googlers Nat & Lo went behind the scenes to check out what goes into a Google Doodle in the latest episode of their YouTube series ‘Nat & Lo’s 20% Project’ – and you can check it out here:

And if you’re really into Google Doodles you can check out all the Google Doodles every day on the Google Doodle blog or check out previous Google Birthday Doodles on there as well.
