Google’s Pixel wallpaper app becomes available to pretty much everyone

Early morning on the dawn of the Pixel launch in Australia and we arise to the news that one of the Pixel’s great features – it’s amazingly varied wallpaper app – is now available on the Play Store for everyone to get into.

Of course, the app does work best on an Android 7.0 Nougat device, where you can use the app to select New wallpapers for the Home screen, lock screen or both, but the app is still fully functional on earlier versions of Android too.

One of my favourite features is that within each category – including cityscape, Earth, landscapes and life – you can elect to have a daily wallpaper which your phone will select for you overnight. A great way to add a bit of flavour to your phone.

Wallpapers is available now on the Play Store.

He saw the transition from AMPS to GSM, loved the Motorola StarTac, and got into Palm technologies in a big way. The arrival some years later of the original iPhone, and then the early Androids, awoke a new interest in mobile technology, and Chris has been writing about it since.
