What’s better than an early Christmas gift? IF you reply nothing than Myer has a gift for you, an interactive Christmas book “The Story of Santa’s Star”. The app features both multiple reading modes (ie self-read or read to you) as well as interactive activities including puzzles, drawings, games and more.

I gave the book a quick look and it’s very well done; I loaded the app onto a tablet and gave it to my 4 yo daughter, and she immediately was able to use the “read to me” option and was definitely captivated by the experience.

It’s not a perfect experience, there were moments of frustration when a particular page seemingly did nothing, but she soon learnt to skip by the less interesting of the 16 pages. Considering it’s free with no IAP, I think this should go on to your download list of you have young kids you allow access to tablets etc.

There is still a comparative lack of choice in good kids content on the Play Store when compared to Apple’s App Store, so any good kids app is a plus. If you want to try it out grab it below.
