Naughty Ausdroid: VR Porn – it’s really happening

For anyone interested in such a pasttime, it wouldn’t be a surprise that the adult industry regularly leads the way in the adoption of new technology. This was the case when Google Glass was released which was used to create first person perspective “entertainment”.

This early adoption of technology by the adult industry has continued as VR has progressed from being a novelty item to mainstream availability. If you’ve got a VR headset (and enough bandwidth) you can now stream vr videos on vrporn.com directly to your smartphone. Everything you would expect works as a live stream including head-tracking, which (given its on a stream versus installed app or video) is quite remarkable. For those interested to delve deeper, the service is using WebVR, a relatively new technology which is still in its infancy.

If, of course in the interests of technological research you’re keen to check this out a bit further, go to any video on the VR Porn site on your smartphone, and press the VR goggles icon to see VR mode.

There’s a couple of clear advantages here: the first being that there’s no video files on your computer that could be discovered by kids or partners. The second being that you don’t have to stuff around with the settings forever to get VR mode working because it just works!

Is VR Porn something you can see making a big impact in the entertainment industries?
