Nextbit-Robin-Back

If you’re a Nextbit Robin owner you may be pleased to know that the Nextbit team have announced that Android Nougat is ready for release to their beta testers. What’s better is that the update is rolling out now. If you’re not a beta tester for the Robin it’s easy to join the program, simply fill in the application and you’ll be accepted.

Nextbit has partnered with some of the team behind Paranoid Android to work together on the software releasing, allowing Nextbit to both harness their expertise and get the beta out faster. The relationship has been mutually beneficial with both the beta for Nextbit OS and the Paranoid Android ROM being ready sooner and more polished than either group could have achieved on their own.

It’s great to see an OEM and a community development project working so close together for mutual benefit. While I don’t think this is going to become a market trend, it’s undeniable that many great Android features were born out of the Android community itself.

Are you going to go beta on your Robin? Let us know below.
