Google Docs is a regular use item for many Google users, one of the criticisms of it versus some of the other options is the inabity to use it without Internet access. That issue has been addressed with the update that is currently rolling out to Docs users on the web.

The change will be a benefit to anyone who uses tablets without a SIM card or even those who travel regularly and would like to maintain productivity while airborne. This is just another step that Google have taken to making Docs a genuinely viable alternative to Microsoft Word.

Will offline access to your Docs make Google Docs and Drive a reliable option for your daily use?
