HTC’s ‘surprise’ is the Sapphire glass version of the HTC U Ultra

HTC’s surprise that they teased on their Taiwanese webpage has been unveiled and it’s the Sapphire Glass version of the HTC U Ultra which they announced back in January.

The slightly modified phone comes with an update to storage with up 128GB, as well as a sapphire glass display but has an updated price tag to match. The phone is available to order in Taiwan for $28,990 New Taiwan Dollars(NTD), or around $1,230 Australian dollars.

There is a small bonus for people paying the extra money for the Sapphire edition of the phone with a bonus keyring and leather flip case and HTC QC 3.0 fast charge power bank, all worth $3,000NTD thrown in:

The phone can be pre-ordered between the 3/20 – 3/28 with shipping beginning in early April.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

Oh joy!!! Sapphire?!! Thanks HTC! Big surprise indeed! Now I want one! That totally makes up for the price and lack of features!
