After bringing Chromecast support to the Android app in November last year, SBS has today announced that our iOS friends are getting Chromecast support in their On Demand app from today.

The latest update for On Demand for iOS is now available in the iOS app store, and allows users to cast programs from SBS On Demand’s premium international and multilingual library. SBS, through On Demand offers over 6,000 hours of drama, documentaries and movies from across the globe, all of which can now be cast to TV screens with a Chromecast attached, anytime, anywhere, and for free.

The timing of the announcement couldn’t be better content wise for iOS users with the new series The Handmaid’s Tale, based on the
award-winning Margaret Atwood novel, due to start streaming on July 6th.

We’ve had a few enquiries from iOS users about availability of Chromecast support for On Demand on iOS, so here it is. The update can be downloaded on the Apple app store here.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
