Plantronics launches Backbeat 500 series Headphones in Australia for $119.99

There’s a few headphone companies I enjoy checking out when they launch new products and one of those is Plantronics who today have launched their Backbeat 500 series Headphones in Australia for $119.99.

The headphones are a on-ear Bluetooth headphone offering up to 18 hours of playback in a lightweight form factor that looks to be comfortable, and if Plantronics history is anything to go by, a high quality build. W

ith 40 mm drivers and a bass tube design, the Backbeat 500 Series offer a deep, rich sound which can be enjoyed up to 10 metres away from your device thanks to Bluetooth 4.1 – or if you want you can plug them into your phone thanks to the 3.5mm jack built-in…provided your phone still has one. The Backbeat 500 Series headphones also allow you to automatically connect up to two devices simultaneously and pair up to a total of eight devices, neat.

The battery will last for up to 6 months if left alone in a hibernation mode, meaning if you don’t use them all the time, you won’t have to worry about needing to charge them before you use them if you haven’t picked them up in a while.

The ear cups, which are made of memory foam for your comfort and noise isolation, lay flat for easy storage in a bag, or just for a more comfortable feel when you hang them around your neck. There’s also a wideband-enabled mic in there as well for calls, or accessing Google Now commands. There’s also easy control with on-ear controls built-in to control calls or music playback.

Peter Petrides, National Retail Sales Manager, Australia and New Zealand at Plantronics said of the Backbeat 500 Series

More and more consumers today are ditching the cord and are ready to step up to a wireless listening experience. At the same time, they are unwilling to compromise on the high standards that come with a wired connection. The BackBeat 500 Series is designed to be your perfect first pair of wireless headphones that provide an exceptional experience without breaking the bank. With best-in-class battery life, all-day comfort and Plantronics’ signature high quality audio, they bring simplicity and reliability to those who are looking to transition into the world of the wireless.

You can purchase the Backbeat 500 series from today at Harvey Norman or JB Hi-Fi in three colors – white, grey and dark grey – for $119.99.
