JB Hi-Fi has taken $10 off the price of the Chromecast Ultra with 4K playback, dropping the price from $99 to just $89.

The Chromecast Ultra was one of the most hotly announced streaming devices when it was announced late last year, with most of the Ausdroid team snapping one up as soon as they were released.

The utility of the 4K support in Australia with Google still not releasing 4K UHD movies through Play Movies in Australia. There is the shining light that is local Streaming Video on Demand (SVOD) service Stan, as well as the behemoth, Netflix, which both now offer 4K resolution content with Chromecast support, so a 4K capable Chromecast can still be a great idea.

The deal seems quite good, however if you are wanting to save a few extra dollars, then you can save an extra 5% by simply doing a price match through your local Officeworks store whose 5% price beat policy will bring the price down lower to around the sub $85 price which is certainly a very tempting deal.

You can check out the JB Hi-Fi deal through the their website or your local JB HiFi store. You can also check out where your local Officeworks store is through their website as well.

I believe that Mi Box 3 with built-in Chromecast (4K) and *Android TV* for $100 is a much better value. It comes with a voice controlled Bluetooth remote and runs Kodi in Ultra HD.
