2017 is the year of the leak. Every single device announced so far has leaked details, some more than others. Earlier this year we knew nearly every single detail of the LG G6 before LG even stepped on stage to announce it at MWC. Now leaks for the second LG flagship of the year have begun, it looks amazing and it’s being announced on August 31st.
The LG V20 was a great phone which had a secondary display that was actually quite useful. It seems that this year LG are ditching the secondary display and going for a more traditional look. This render is not an official LG render or press image but instead it’s a 3D render produced by leaker @onleaks. In the past the renders from @Onleaks have been very accurate as he normally gets cad drawings or measurements from case makers and then pays a 3D modeller to make the render.
The renders show the V30 looking extremely similar to the LG G6. There is a headphone jack at the top of the phone and a single speaker at the bottom. From the renders it has been determined that the apparent dimensions of the V30 are 151.4 x 75.2 x 7.4 mm with minimal bezels on all sides. The display is a 6 inch display, as opposed to the 5.7 inch in the G6, maintaining the 18:9 display ratio; this time though the display will be an AMOLED display – that will likely support Daydream. There is the very G6-ish dual rear camera with fingerprint sensor on the back.
There is very little else “known” about the V30 but you would expect it to house Qualcomm’s latest processor with a decent amount of RAM. Hopefully this time LG do not scrimp on the onboard storage and offer 64GB as a minimum. One thing for sure is that if these renders are accurate the V30 will be a good looking device, just as the G6 is.
The latest leak has the V30 set to be announced on August 31 at IFA in Berlin with invites heading out to press as we speak. At just six weeks away it won’t be too long before we know everything about LG’s next flagship.
Anyone looking forward to this phone? Why or why not?
