Thursday , December 13 2018 Ausdroid » News » Star Wars: The Last Jedi Characters will be revealed using AR in the Star Wars app next month

You’ll be able to check out characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Augmented Reality next month, with a new promotion involving the Star Wars app for your mobile.

The reveal is to celebrate Force Friday II, an event where fans can see both new and their returning favourite characters who will appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi in augmented reality. It’s also the day you can buy The Last Jedi toys!

In order to find the AR characters, you’ll need the Star Wars app installed, then head into your favourite retailer between the 1st to 3rd of September and scan the graphics on the in-store promo stands. A ‘data chip’ will be revealed every time a new AR character is found, with each in-store graphic revealing a new experience every day. Each scan will unlock digital rewards the more data chips you collect.

In Australia, there are several retailers listed as participating :

  • Big W
  • Harvey Norman
  • Myer
  • Toys“R”Us
  • Zing
  • Target (Online)

*Not sure how Target Online helps, but perhaps something on their website?

The Last Jedi heads into theatres on the 14th of December all around Australia. While there’s no full trailer launched as yet, you can watch the teaser video here:
