If you’ve been hanging out for the launch of the Nokia 8, the good news is that the phone is now available from JB HiFi and Harvey Norman so you can head in and check one out today. If you’re not sold and are in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne you can check out the Bothie camera feature in shopping centres in the area.

The Nokia 8 is their flagship handset combining the power of the Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM and dual 13MP sensors behind Zeiss lenses on the rear to create a really well priced handset powered by pure, stock Android. The phone has a few software tweaks including the Bothie feature which lets you activate both front and rear cameras on the phone to put yourself in the image when you snap a shot, or live-stream to the world.

The Bothie feature involves a massive 3D art display will be on display at Shot Tower Square, Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, The Pitt St Mall in Sydney and at the Queen St Mall in Brisbane.

You’ll be able to check them out on specific dates:

  • Melbourne
  • Shot Tower Square, Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, 211 La Trobe St, Melbourne VIC 3000

    • 8am – 7pm, Wednesday, 6 September 2017
    • 10am – 9pm, Thursday, 7 September 2017
  • Sydney
  • Pitt St Mall, Pitt St, Sydney (near the entrance of The Strand)

    • 8am – 5pm, Friday, 15 September 2017
    • 9am – 5pm, Saturday, 16 September 2017
  • Brisbane
  • Queen St Mall, Brisbane, Corner of Albert & Queen St

    • 11am – 9pm, Friday, 22 September 2017
    • 9am – 5pm, Saturday, 23 September 2017

The Nokia 8 is a great feeling phone, at least according to Jason who attended the launch event last month, and it takes some pretty decent shots on that dual-camera setup. If you’re interested you can head in-store to check out the phone at JB HiFi or Harvey Norman, or if you’re lucky enough to be in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne you can check it out in the malls.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
