New Pokémon Go event gives you double stardust, triple XP and more until October 2nd

Niantic Labs has decided that the upcoming equinox will make a good occasion for a new event, with a bunch of bonuses being offered including double stardust, triple XP, Special edition eggs and more.

The event goes live at 6am AEST today, and runs through until 6am AEST on the 3rd of October. To start with you’ll get double stardust for hatching eggs or catching Pokémon. You’ll also get Triple XP for adding new Pokémon to your Pokédex, so if you haven’t caught one of the Legendary Pokémon you might want to get on that.

Niantic is adding some new Pokémon to ‘special edition’ 2km eggs which contain Chansey, Mareep, Larvitar and more. The Pokémon Go store will also have special boxes for sale containing ‘Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules, and all-new Super Incubators which hatch Eggs 1.5 times quicker’.

If you’re still playing Pokémon Go you’ll be getting out there and finding those new Pokémon and walking to get a load more stardust.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
