If a new phone was on your list of things to find a bargain on this Boxing Day, then JB Hifi should be your first stop with the price on both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL price reduced.

The prices are available on all colour/storage combinations of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, with an $80 saving on the Pixel 2 and $150 saving on the Pixel 2 XL:

  • Pixel 2 64GB – Was $979, Now $899
  • Pixel 2 128GB – Was $1,129, Now $1,049
  • Pixel 2 XL 64GB – Was $1,249, Now $1,099

The Pixel 2 is on all of our lists here at Ausdroid as the best premium smartphone of the year. The smooth running phone, combined with the best samrtphone camera we’ve used to date and 3 years worth of updates makes it a compelling purchase.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

  1. Hi Daniel, after doing a thorough research and reading articles posted on Ausdroid.net, I made a decision to purchase the Google Pixel 2 XL 128gb a couple of days ago. I bought it from the Google Store for $1399. At that time, JB Hi-Fi was selling it at the same price ($1399). Unfortunately for me, JB Hi-Fi now reduced the price down to $1249. Essentially, I will be losing out of $150 due to this. Being a student this really affects me. I plan on returning my phone or asking Google if they can do a price match (which I doubt). But I have heard rumours that JB Hi-Fi are giving out old faulty pieces of the Google Pixel. Hence, I should stick with the piece which I purchased from Google directly. I tried doing some online reading about this but I could not find anything. What would you do if you were in my position? Hope to hear back from you soon.

    • Google won’t match price and you have to return the phone and then buy one from JB hi-fi

    • Google won’t match prices, but certainly will give you a refund – they have a 15-day window on returns. JB Hifi as far as I know are selling new stock, so that shouldn’t be a concern.

I’d definitely be returning the phone to Google and buying from JB if you can arrange it in the time it’s on sale.

    • Hi Farhan, I purchased a Pixel 2 XL from JB today and everything appears normal (i.e. sealed box, home mini supplied as promised). I haven’t had a chance to set it up yet but I’ll post back here if anything looks amiss once I open the box.

    • Thank you very much for you thoughts guys! Appreciate it. I ended up purchasing the Google Pixel pack from JB. Will be returning the piece from Google in the coming days. Pretty glad it all worked out and I managed to save $150!! Now, on to accessories – anyone recommend a decent screen protectors for the pixel? I know JB stocks a ZAGG tempered glass one. The google online store sells some as well, but unfortunately they do not cater them to us ‘isolated’ Australians =(
