Fashion label Kate Spade New York has gotten into the smartwatch market announcing an Android Wear watch at CES.

As part of the Fossil group which has launched many Android Wear watches through their various brands over the past year or two it’s no surprise to see this launch. For their smart watch though, Kate Spade has gone with a ‘feminine’ look that they say is ‘versatile, multi-functional and playfully sophisticated’.

The watch is available in three configurations: a rose gold-tone case and bracelet; a rose gold-tone case with a soft vachetta leather strap; and a yellow gold-tone case with a smooth black leather strap.

In terms of hardware, the Kate Spade NY watch comes in a stainless steel case that’s 42mm in diameter with a 1.19″ fully round 390×390 resolution AMOLED display, surrounded by a rotating bezel with a distinctive scallop design embedded. The watch appears to have interchangeable 16mm bands, but it’s not confirmed.

Powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and coming with the seemingly default (for Android Wear devices) 4GB of on-board storage, the watch boasts 24 hours of battery life.

The watch is currently available to order in the US for $295, though no international announcements have been made about availability at this stage – but rest assured we’ll be following up here.

Update:The Kate Spade new york Touchscreen watch will be available through David Jones from late February with only the rose gold models heading down under, the edition with black band and gold body will not be available here. The Rose Gold case will be available with a soft vachetta leather strap for $499, while the metal bracelet will set you back $549.
