Nintendo’s foray into mobile gaming has been limited to date, but the runaway success of Super Mario Run has bolstered their confidence and today they’ve announced that Mario Kart Tour is coming to smartphones.

Nintendo America announced the upcoming game in a couple of tweets which also announced a new Super Mario film is in development that will be animated by Illumination Entertainment – yeah, those Minion movies, as well as the launch of Switch online for their popular console.

The Mario Kart World Tour mobile game will be arriving in March next year, but so far no other details have been released. It will likely be a version of the popular Mario Kart series, though how it will run is anyone’s guess. Here’s the announcement:

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

No doubt it will be another freemium game which is highly limited without paying heaps. In a way I would much sooner a paid game that came with everything to start with.
