Sunday , October 21 2018 Ausdroid » News » Get ready, HTC is going to announce the U12 on the May 23

If you’ve been waiting for the launch of the follow up to the HTC U11, then set your calendar for May 23rd with HTC launching a teaser for an event on social media.

The background of the picture HTC have shared shows smartphone parts laid out on a textured material with at least four camera modules, a fingerprint sensor and what looks to be a SIM Card Tray with microSD card under the 23.05.18 date. But it’s not all about smartphone parts for this release, with HTC using the tag line ‘Coming Soon. A phone that is more than the sum of its specs.’

Rumours suggest that we may be seeing a HTC U12+ instead of a U12, with rumours also pointing to the phone including a Snapdragon 845 CPU, 6GB of RAM, and either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. The display will be 5.99″ with an 18:9 aspect ratio and we’re expecting HTC to continue using the beautiful Liquid Surface design.

After the HTC U11 captured Jason’s heart for the past 12 months, we’re absolutely keen for the release of the HTC U12, our calendars are set and we’re ready to pick up what HTC is throwing down.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
