JBL has today announced three new Bluetooth speakers in their 2018 line-up, introducing the Go 2, the Clip 3 and the Xtreme 2.
The new range offers long battery life, waterproof durability and freedom of portability says JBL, combined with their usual ‘rich, powerful sound’ which you can control wirelessly through your device of choice thanks to Bluetooth.
Marcus Fry, Brand Activation Director of AUNZ at HARMAN says of the new range
Our Bluetooth range of speakers keep getting better and better, all for the same price. Fashion colours, durability, portability and JBL sound make this new range the perfect music companion, no matter the activity.
The JBL Go 2 is a a stylish, waterproof speaker with IPX7 certification offering up to 5 hours of playback with a high quality sound. Available in a range of colours including Midnight Black, Deep Sea Blue, Sunkissed Cinnamon, Moss Green, Ash Grey and Ruby Red, the speakers are designed to offer you great sound at an affordable price.
The speaker includes a single 40W transducer with a 3.0W output. The JBL Go 2 includes support for Bluetooth 4.1 with the addition of an available audio cable input.
At just $49.95 each, the speaker is sure to be attractive to anyone looking for a waterproof speaker. You can see it on the JBL website now.
The Clip 3 is a different form factor to the Go 2 and it’s a little more expensive priced at $79.95 but it’s also got a larger battery inside to make sure you can play your music or podcasts for as long as you need.
The Clip 3 is ultra-portable, ultra-rugged and waterproof with an IPX7 rating but it’s small in size which belies the 10 hours of playback you can get out of the 100mAh battery inside it. The durable speaker includes an integrated carabiner allowing you to clip it to anything like your backpack, or even a belt loop for when you’re walking along.
The Clip 3 comes in either Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Stone Grey, Dusty Pink or Fiesta Red colour options to match it to any theme you have going.
You can see the Clip 3 on the JBL Website now.
For those wanting a little more out of their Bluetooth speaker, the Xtreme 2 is the biggest, and baddest in their new range offering more bang for your buck, though at $349.95 it’s a heck of a lot of buck.
The Xtreme 2 is crafted to be the ‘ultimate stereo sound’ according to JBL, with dual 2.75-inch JBL Bass Radiators and twin 20mm tweeters, to give a 2 x 20W RMS sound. The speaker includes 15 hours of playback thanks to the 10,000mAh lithium ion batteryto let you play back sound all day long.
Just like the rest of the range, the Xtreme 2 speaker includes IPX7 waterproofing, housed in the familiar JBL cylinder design with a metal base and with a durable fabric – it even includes a bottle opener on the optional strap for the perfect party speaker. The Xtreme 2 comes in three stylish colours: Forest Green, Ocean Blue and Midnight Black.

Unlike the Link speakers, there’s no sign of Google Assistant integration on board with the 2018 Bluetooth range of speakers, but they do look great. You can check them out on the JBL website now.
