One of the most highly anticipated Android phones of the year is launching tonight, with Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event set to start at 1am AEST.

The launch is taking place in New York, but as airfares aren’t cheap and the place is likely packed out. If you want to know if all the leaks are legit, then you can still see for yourself by tuning in to the live-stream for the event which Samsung will be hosting on their website – and of course through YouTube.

The launch of the phone is also rumoured to be paired with the announcement of Samsung’s Tizen based ‘Galaxy Watch’, as well as a new dual wireless charging pad for both the phone and the watch.

If a 1am start to your Friday isn’t appealing, then we’ll have all the information about the launch right here on Ausdroid when you wake up.

Until it kicks off though, you can check out the leaked intro video for the Note 9 here:

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
