It’s become somewhat of a tradition, but if you weren’t aware today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Amazon is ready for it with Alexa ready to act the part of a salty sea dog.

The swashbuckling is all in fun with Alexa ready to respond to number of key commands including :

  • “Alexa, sing a pirate song.”
  • “Alexa, talk like a pirate.”
  • “Alexa, tell me a pirate joke.”
  • “Alexa, give me a pirate fun fact.”

There’s a serious component with Talk Like a Pirate Day also used for fundraising for Childhood Cancer Support. You can take a moment and donate through the Talk Like a Pirate Day website .

If you haven’t grabbed an Alexa enabled speaker as yet, you can grab one from as low as $79 for an Echo Dot from the Amazon website or a number of local retailers.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
