We’re less than two weeks out from the launch of the Google Pixel 3 phones, and apart from the multitude of leaks, it’s also showing in the dwindling stock of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones available to buy from the Google Store, JB Hifi and Telstra.

Over on the Google Store, the stocks of the Google Pixel 2 are limited to the 64GB model in Clearly White, with stock of the 128GB model sold out. Stocks of the Pixel 2 in Just Black and Kinda Blue are sold out in both 64GB and 128GB storage options.

Stocks of the Google Pixel 2 XL are a little better, with only the 64GB model of the Just Black model completely sold out, while the 128GB model still available. The 64GB and 128GB models of the Clearly White (Stormtrooper) Pixel 2 XL are both still in stock however.

At JB HiFi the stock is limited to just the 64GB model of the Pixel 2 XL in Clearly White and Just Black, with no stock of the smaller Pixel 2 left.

The only other official reseller of the Pixel phones in Australia, Telstra, is also showing dwindling stocks with only the 64GB Pixel 2 XL in Just Black left on offer through their website.

The Pixel 2 XL has one major advantage over the Pixel 3 XL…it has no notch in its display, so there are a number of people who’ve suggested this may be a better buy if you don’t like the notch.

If you’ve been on the fence about the Pixel 3 XL notch, then it may be time to check out the Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL before they’re all sold out.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
